In 1988 Black Hawk County voters were asked to vote on whether supervisors would be elected at‑large (county wide) or by district. County voters voted in favor of "at-large" supervisors.
In 2025 the Republican led Iowa Legislature (through Senate File 76) voted in favor of forcing Black Hawk County to switch from at large elections to district-based elections.
We are now only
allowed to vote for one of the candidates running in our district.
