Our Priorities

​1.  SUPPORT IOWA WORKERS AND BUSINESSES 

We are committed to fostering a vibrant and growing economy by championing small businesses, and larger enterprises across Iowa. These businesses and the Iowans they employ are the backbone of our communities.

​

2. PRIORITIZE PUBLIC EDUCATION 

The government plays a vital role in education by establishing policies, providing funding, and ensuring equitable access to education. We respect a parent’s right to choose how their child is educated, and the truth is parents have always had a choice.We believe that public funds should be used to strengthen public education, not subsidize private alternatives. Iowans’ tax dollars should only go to public Pre-K thru 12 schools, Area Education Agencies, Regents universities, and community colleges. Our goals are to boost teacher salaries, reduce class sizes, and provide better learning environments across the board.

3. PROTECT IOWA'S FARMS AND ENVIRONMENT 

Iowa’s farms don’t just feed our state, they help feed the world. We will stand behind our farmers by advocating for policies that protect their livelihoods, preserve the health of Iowa’s soil,water, and air, and promote clean energy and sustainable practices. We will fix the laws that put Iowans’ health, farms, farm workers, and local ecosystems at risk.

4. BUILD A FAIRER TAX SYSTEM 

Taxes fund essential public services we all rely on andstrengthen Iowa’s economy.When the government limits the amount of taxes raised in communities, the direct result is fewer services to citizens.Our commonsense approach will ensure fairness in the tax code, so that tax rates return to a system where those who earn more contribute more.

5. DEFEND CIVIL AND HUMAN RIGHTS FOR ALL 

Everyone in Iowa is entitled to equal protection under the law. We believe in law enforcement that protects public safety.We acknowledge the current challenges to the Constitution and civil rights laws.Those fighting to retain their lawful existence, personhood, and dignity are too often met with grave injustice.We believe in a justice system that restores, upholds and protects due process, equal protection, civil liberties, civil rights, and human rights for all in accordance with Constitutional Law.

6. ENSURE GOVERNMENT TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

Government should serve the people—not protect bad actors. We will enforce full transparency at every level of government and hold officialsresponsible for wrongdoing. We will also resist any efforts to privatize public retirement systems.

7. EXPAND LEGAL IMMIGRATIONS PATHWAYS 

Iowa has long benefited from the contributions of immigrants. We will support expanded immigration policies that recognize the value of all who arrive at our borders legally, seeking work, refuge from danger, or a better life. We’re also committed to creating fair, achievable paths to citizenship.

8. PROTECT SOCIAL SAFETY NETS FOR IOWANS 

Iowans have a long history of caring for each other.But now, national programs like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid (in all its forms), and the Affordable Care Act are underfunded and under threat of elimination.We will work to ensure that these essential programs will continue to serve Iowans, now and in the future. We’ll bring Medicaid administration back under public control in Iowa, endingprofit-oriented corporatemanaged care. Mental health services will receive the funding and attention they deserve.

9. RESTORE JUDICIAL INTEGRITY

Judges should be chosen based on merit, not politics. We will uphold the system where judicial appointments reflect the recommendations of the Iowa Bar Association, ensuring that our courts remain fair, independent, and free from political pressure.

10. UPHOLD DEMOCRACY

Nothing is more essential to our democracy than the right of all citizens to vote.  Our agenda includes ensuring that the right to vote is accessible and fair for all citizens.  We must also fix our campaign finance system so that it works for all people, not just big donors and corporations.
