Presented by Kamyar Enshayan, former Director of UNI Center for Energy & Environmental Education.m
Join Kamyar for a public discussion of the status of nitrate (from fertilizers and animal waste) in our drinking water. He will briefly outline what he has learned in his research, discuss questions and generate new questions. The main goal is for people of the Cedar Valley to understand the situation and to be able to become more involved in shaping a clean water future for Waterloo, Cedar Falls, and surrounding communities.

Holocaust Remembrance
Discussion of Night by Eli Weisel
Over the course of 2025, the United Nations commemorated the horrors of the Holocaust, which ended 80 years ago.In commemoration of the UN’s yearlong theme of "Holocaust Remembrance and Education for Dignity and Human Rights," the Cedar Valley Interfaith Council is sponsoring a free educational program to discuss Nobel Peace Prizewinner Elie Wiesel’s book, Night, a 120-page masterpiece of Holocaust literature first published in 1960.

Night or The Night Trilogy (which includes the books: Night, Dawn, & the Accident) can be borrowed from the public library or purchased inexpensively from online and retail used book stores.

Any Iowan who is eligible to vote in the November 2026 general election AND who is a registered Democrat may participate in the Iowa Caucus.

Attendees may register on Caucus Night to update their current registration, change party affiliation, or register for the first time.

Non-eligible voters are allowed to observe the caucus but not participate.

WHY

So registered Democrats of each precinct can elect two Precinct Committee Persons (PCPs) who become the voting members of the BHC Democrats Central Committee.

To elect Delegates and Alternates to the County Convention.

To elect representatives to the county convention platform committee, and the committee on committees
