Republicans Are Robbing You Blind

Got a son or daughter at your house with the grades and the desire to further their education at one of Iowa’s Regent Universities?  Congratulations!  You must be very proud. 

I also hope you have the money, because you’re not getting any help from Republicans in Des Moines.  They’ve been choking off money to public higher education for years, and now Iowa ranks 46^th out of 50 states in appropriating money to state colleges and universities.  Iowa families fork out more for tuition because the state has cut the amount they pay per-student from $13,532 in 2001 to $7,296 in 2025. 

While some were frantically trying to elect Republicans so they could take away rights from women and LGBTQ+ citizens, they used their power to rob us blind.  This is the result of tax cuts that heavily favor the rich, and the school voucher scheme that cuts $350 million of your tax dollars from our public schools and funnel it to unaccountable private schools. 

You don’t have to take this anymore!  We can restore our state’s higher education resources so that it’s once again affordable for all Iowans!  You can prevent your son or daughter from graduating with a mountain of school loan debt by voting out billionaire-backed Republicans this November!
